NBA All-Star Weekend Has Jalen Brunson Causing Trouble To Donovan Mitchell And Injured Teammate Julius Randle

Jalen Brunson had his first All-Star appearance tonight. And the fired-up Knicks guard was determined to make it a memorable night. Unfortunately, his 24 points fell short of two to advance to the final three-man round. Talking to the press post-game, Brunson didn’t let the failure affect his sense of humor.

Nor did he let his Starry 3-point contest rival or NY teammate let off easy. Julius Randle, who was supposed to be in the All-Star, but had to take a step back due to injury, had 13 points last year. It could be that Brunson was comforting himself or trying to take the scrutiny away from him. Either way, he threw his injured teammate under the bus as he hilariously said, “At least I beat Julius.”

Donovan Mitchell of the Cleveland Cavaliers shared the same fate as Jalen tonight. In the locker room, the ‘Spida’ wasn’t too happy with Brunson, as was seen from the clip Brunson shared on his Instagram. Mitchell said, “I was doing fine until you showed the f**k up!” to which the man in question was laughing hard.
Mitch came into the Starry 3-point contest with a mission – to be the third player in Cavs history to win it. Unfortunately, as the second contestant of the night, he finished with 21 points. And apparently, that’s Brunson’s fault. But he will still be part of a star-studded lineup tomorrow at the All-Star Game.
And hopefully, he can make up for everything he wished he couldn’t do tonight. But then again, he might still have to deal with Brunson.
The ‘Spida’ will have Jalen Brunson on his back tomorrow as well

The main event of the 73rd NBA All-Star Weekend happens tomorrow. While there were mixed reactions to the events leading up to tonight, we can safely say that Indianapolis has delivered what it promised. From the eagerly anticipated Steph vs Sabrina and the Slam Dunk to the Panini Rising Stars, the results have been unexpected. But nonetheless, thrilling.

But not so much for Mitchell, as we saw above. If Mitch thought that he would be free of Jalen Brunson, he might want to think again. Named to the Eastern Conference reserves list, both he and Brunson will have to play together when the time comes. With the NBA reverting to the Eastern vs Western format, there is no doubt that the competition level will be high.
