Sunday marked a spectacular end to the 2024 NBA All-Star Weekend in downtown Indianapolis. We have seen multiple winners emerge out of a series of events planned for the weekend. Damian Lillard took home the Starry 3-Point Contest Trophy only to come back again and lift the All-Star Game MVP trophy. The Eastern Conference dominated the West by securing a record-breaking 211-186 win. G-Leaguer Mac McClung won the Slam Dunk Contest and the Pacers (Bennedict Mathurin, Tyrese Haliburton, and Myles Turner) clinched the Skills Challenge.

However, many would agree that the most memorable event was the NBAxWNBA crossover 3-Point showdown between Stephen Curry and Sabrina Ionescu. With 29 points, Chef Curry won the contest but Sabrina won the hearts of many who were watching from all over the world. Despite a successful weekend, millionaire American rapper Cam’ron is not impressed with the quality of All-Star weekends over the last few years.

Grammy-nominated rapper and host of the It Is What It Is show, Cam’ron is disappointed at how the NBA All-Star Weekend has lost its former glory. He says, “I don’t know what to do to fix it because All-Star Weekend been slacking for years, for years, the whole weekend as a total.” But that’s not all, because he adds that the Slam Dunk Contest was “trash, that s*** was trash. Dumb whack.” The one event that was remotely entertaining for him was the Rising Stars Challenge. “That was kind of entertaining, that was pretty cool,” Cam’ron contends.

However, the event that takes the cake for being the most upsetting was the All-Star Game, he says. “The All-Star Game totally was whack too, nobody plays defense.”For many reasons, this year’s ASG was a letdown. We noticed a lack of defense which stemmed from a lack of competitiveness and this has been going on for years. Despite the unvaried game, Draymond Green and Charles Barkley kept it amusing for fans.

Dray and Chuck to the rescue

This ASG was as uninteresting as it could get. So, instead, Draymond and Chuck took the spotlight by cracking jokes now and then, keeping the fans entertained. The game was so boring that they hilariously even started joking about a suit. Check it out for yourself in the video below!

This game broke multiple records including the only game in ASG history where a team scored more than 200 points and the highest recorded points in an ASG. but it failed to capture the true essence of an ‘All-Star’ game. It’s not as engaging as it once was. To this, many stars have admitted that they are reluctant to exert themselves and risk injuries for a game that has no bearing on the season.
