Shane van Gisbergen Praises Motorsports Tycoon Justin Marks for His Incredible Portfolio

Shane van Gisbergen has a big task ahead of the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season. After impressing the fans with his heroics at the Chicago Street Course race, SVG will now be running full-time for Kaulig Racing in partnership with Trackhouse Racing this campaign. While it is a new experience for him, he couldn’t be more delighted having to do it under Justin Marks’ management.

The 2024 season is meant to help van Gisbergen settle with racing in the United States. In the process, the Kiwi driver will be first seen racing in the ARCA Menards Series and the Xfinity Series race at Daytona. But what made him be in admiration of his new team owner recently?

NASCAR has always seen drivers having good relationships with their owners flourish well. Shane van Gisbergen enjoyed an amazing connection with his former boss and current partner, Jessica Dane. While he seeks a healthy relationship with new boss Justin Marks, the latter’s range of motorsports involvement has already impressed Van Gisbergen.
The heroics of Marks off-the-tracks have been no secret. Having started Trackhouse Racing with Pitbull in 2021, he has come a long way with his entrepreneurial skills. Speaking about Marks, Shane van Gisbergen spoke candidly to Frontstretch’s Amy Henderson.

He said, “Yeah, it’s pretty cool. I’ve had a few team owners like that and they’re pretty awesome guys to be around, just so forward-thinking and out of the box. He [Marks] said there’s a lot going on at the moment as we were doing the deal and I didn’t know about the MotoGP thing coming out.”

With the NASCAR venture working out well for Trackhouse Racing, Marks and his team decided to try out their hand on two wheels in the 2024 MotoGP season. The announcement came in December 2023 as they partnered with Aprilia to run their RS-GP prototype machines.

Naturally, with so much going on, it is difficult for Marks to make time for everyone. However, that hasn’t stopped van Gisbergen from being amazed by his capabilities. SVG said, “He’s [Marks] got so many things going on but seems to have it all under control as well. It’s very cool meeting and being involved with someone with something like that.”
Clearly, the 34-year-old seems to be impressed by Marks’ approach. In fact, he even had something to say about Pitbull, the other team owner.
