Hopping on Instagram, even Canelo shared the poster for the tournament in his story. It revealed that the event would kick off on Friday, 17 May 2024, at Bosque Real, a country club in Naucalpan de Juárez, State of Mexico. Meanwhile, the post itself was even more promising, giving a glimpse of what people can expect.

The caption of the post read, “The 2024 Edition of #NoGolfNoLife promises unforgettable moments and emotions that transcend the green. Ready for a once-in-a-lifetime experience in the world of golf?” Despite the enticing sales pitch in the caption and Canelo’s involvement in the event, it failed to impress the fans, and they took to the comment section to bash the Mexican superstar.

Fans want to hear a different announcement

Reacting to the post, some brought up Canelo’s Cinco de Mayo fight, while others expressed interest in watching the event unfold. One user highlighted that Canelo still hasn’t announced who he will fight on May 4 in the Cinco de Mayo event. The user wrote, “We got this announcement before the announcement of your Cinco de Mayo fight.” It’s worth mentioning that last year, Canelo entered a three-fight deal with PBC. After his first fight against Jermell Charlo in September, it leaves two fights. One is scheduled for May 4, and another in the coming September.

Another user just responded to the post with “🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆,” suggesting Canelo is ducking a fight against other boxers. Interestingly, Terence Crawford and David Benavidez are the two top contenders per public opinion. Moreover, Benavidez is even the mandatory challenger for Canelo’s WBC belt, but no update regarding that has come out yet!

Someone else enquired where the golf event was going to be held. The user wrote, “Where was it?” As mentioned before, it will transpire at Bosque Real.

The next user seemed excited about the golf event, asserting, “I want to go!!!” What’s more, if the claims from Canelo’s golf ventures are true, it could be an entertaining affair.

One user simply commented, “Campeón.” Canelo holds titles in multiple divisions and is currently undisputed in the middleweight division, so the comment from the user isn’t false.
