After an impressive UFC 298, Dana White came forward to announce the main event. The sudden announcement was taken aback by the fight fans, yet, they had to accept the reality. Pereira in his recent interaction with the media has asserted that he is planning to defend his belt twice. Why? Let’s try to understand.

Jamahal Hill became a champion after defeating Glover Teixeira at UFC 283. Despite clinching the title, ‘SweetDreams’ never got a chance to defend his belt as he relinquished his title due to an injury on his foot. That injury kept Hill away from the octagon for a year and seems like he is ready to make a comeback and that too against the champion, Alex Pereira.

Pereira is ready to take on Hill, but regardless, the champion has also set his eyes on defending his belt at the UFC 301 which is scheduled to happen just 21 days after the UFC 300. Why you ask? It is because UFC 301 is happening in Brazil. In a conversation with the media, Pereira’s words were translated by another individual.“They asked him about it. He always spoke about how he wants to defend the belt in a very fast pace, two times. And now it is a good opportunity due to the cards being so close to each other, for him to be able to defend now at UFC 300.” said Pereira.

He further added “That is a very big possibility. So the way that he does it, if he doesn’t get hurt and everything goes fine, of course, anything can happen in a fight. You could never predict everything going fine. There’s a big chance he will defend the belt very fast.” Pereira is looking to fight at his home ground, however, the probability of him defending his title 2 times within 21 days seems a bit far-fetched but nothing can be made certain yet.

The UFC 300 main event promises to be a thrilling spectacle, featuring two of the most proficient strikers in the game. Let’s take a closer look at the dynamics of these fighters.
