Dale Junior’s Daytona 500 win after a decade-long slumber also had a role to play. After hauling home the Harley J. Earl trophy, Dale thought it was a good time to make a Twitter account. And that small step ballooned into an immensely popular podcast series.

And the access and abundance of such information is largely thanks to the existence of racing podcasts like Dirty Mo Media. In a recent video by Fox8 WGHP, we get to know that Dale Junior’s media enterprise is the go-to NASCAR information source that fans rely upon.
Although there were over 100 podcasts covering the Daytona 500, Dirty Mo was one of the most popular ones, comprising seven different podcasts, including Dale Jr Download, Door Bumper Clear, Dirty Mo Dough, Speed Street, Next Level, Dirty Mo Live, and The Burton Continuum.

Mike Davis, President and Executive Producer at Dirty Mo, shared a sneak peek about their line of action. “Dirty Mo has a specific purpose, in the type of stories we tell, the type of identity that we are. I think it complements our industry.”
The media giant’s stats were largely driven by Dale Junior’s popularity. He was voted the most popular driver of NASCAR 15 times. But his disposition was not suited for show business initially.
“Dale Jr. wasn’t exactly an extrovert, especially when he was driving. He was insanely popular, lots of fans. But to be able to have long-form conversations: that wasn’t exactly how Dale Jr was wired.” Dale’s 2014 Daytona victory yanked him out of his shell and he became more confident in sharing his racing knowledge with the rest of the world.
Door Bumper Clear covers people away from the spotlight, including spotters. The host, Casey Boat, shared some insights. “They don’t come to us for specific facts, right? They come … to us for opinions … Maybe they want to hear the inside scoop on what may be going on in the garage because fans don’t get to see that every weekend … Sometimes, that gets us in trouble.”

In July last year, Dale Jr. introduced a new podcast series- “Becoming Earnhardt: 1979.” The intellectual goodies that fans will be treated to include the build-up to Dale Sr.’s rookie debut with Osterlund Racing. It traces Earnhardt’s rise from a local, semi-modified track winner to one of the top Late-model contenders in Charlotte.
“In fact, when dad inked his deal with Rod [Osterlund] in 1978, it was only four years and four months after his very first win on pavement. Just to give you an idea of how quickly he was rising through the ranks.”
The research behind this podcast involved discovering old newspaper clippings that Junior’s grandmother Martha had preserved. Another resource was a scrapbook owned by Dale Sr.’s older sister, and it focused on the 1979 season.
