“I Didn’t Correct Him”: Powerlifting Sensation Larry Wheels Recalls How a New Yorker Once Mistook Him for Dwayne Johnson

Larry Wheels teamed up with Dr. Mike Isratel for a special workout. The two respected personalities in the online bodybuilding and fitness communities trained together so Wheels could experience training with the Renaissance Periodization founder. However, during the workout session, Mike Israetel commented that Larry Wheels looks a lot like Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.

The 28-year-old revealed that this isn’t the first time he has heard such a compliment. The competitive bodybuilder shares many similarities with the former WWE superstar. They have similar height and physiques, and even their facial features share resemblances. Wheels explained how a man on the New York subway mistook him for The Rock and how he reacted.

After hearing Israetel compare him to the Hollywood action star, the powerlifter revealed an encounter with a Dwyane Johnson fan. “I s**t you not! In New York City, riding the subway, a guy goes, ‘Oh my god! The Rock! Please a photo!'” Wheels told the bodybuilding coach. However, the 28-year-old decided not to reveal his true identity seeing how overjoyed the man looked.
“I’m like sure. I didn’t correct him… let him think he met The Rock,” said the arm-wrestling enthusiast. Dr. Israetel also agreed with the Classic Physique bodybuilder. “You can’t correct people like that when they’re on their high…” said the exercise scientist while doing a set of tricep pull-downs. Although the man might have realized later, the bodybuilder didn’t want to give him a reality check and kill his joy at that moment.
