As reported by Sean Ross Sapp on Fightful Select, Kazuchika Okada reached an agreement with AEW in the last two weeks and is expected to sign with the company soon. Okada won’t appear in AEW until he finishes his commitments with NJPW, which run until the end of February, although there have been conversations in All Elite Wrestling about how big it would be for Okada to debut in the first half of March, but nothing is firm.

As for WWE, sources from the company have confirmed to Fightful that there were conversations with Okada and several talents on the roster have assured that the wrestler was weighing the pros and cons of signing with one company or another. He will finally arrive at AEW, a company that was very confident from minute one about bagging the services of Kazuchika Okada. In fact, it wasn’t just AEW but another fellow wrestler who wanted to see the ‘Rainmaker’ be a part of the promotion.

In an interview with Tokyo Sports, Bryan Danielson was asked about the possibility of Kazuchika Okada, whom he has faced on several occasions over the past few years, joining AEW. Danielson stated that he would be delighted if that were the case and expressed confidence that it would happen. He said, “Of course I want him to come to AEW. Fans all over the world know how great Okada is. Both WWE and AEW are major players, but I hope he comes to AEW.”

He further added, “If he goes to WWE, they might make him start with NXT like Shinsuke to adapt to the American style, but that is not necessary for Okada who is already complete. He is one of the best wrestlers in the world at this point, so he can come to the U.S. without changing anything.” Well, it looks like Danielson might actually get to fight against the ‘Rainmaker’ again and we all know the level of competition the signing will bring to the promotion.
