With the 2024 draft season to begin soon, no team is happier than the Los Angeles Rams! Last year’s rookie lineup proved to be very successful for the Rams, and the general manager Les Snead would hope for a similar draft before the upcoming season. In the first round, the team has the 19th overall pick and potentially ten picks in the NFL Draft. But as the record stands, a lower pick order has never proved to be a problem for the Rams.

Along with the GM Snead, the head coach, Sean McCay, would have to work together to make the most of their draft order and secure a good roster to train for the future games. Moreover, the Rams stand at the seventh position among the best draft picks for the 2024 season. With their experience and numbers in their favor, it will be interesting to see who they pick to recreate the magic of their 2023 draft.

It’s been a long time since the Rams have gotten a first-round pick. The last time they had a chance to pick in the first round was way back in 2016, when they acquired quarterback, Jared Goff. The numbers seem to be finally looking up for Snead’s crew. Not only are they expected to get ten picks in the draft but also four picks in the top 100 selections, as per RamblinFan. Moreover, the Rams possess a salary cap space of $24 million, which provides ample opportunities for the team to build a robust roster.

The Los Angeles Rams had an impressive draft season in 2023, and their rookie class was ranked fourth by the NFL website. HC Sean McVay, was also credited with revamping the newly drafted rookies into a roster of a strong crew. The biggest transformation was wide receiver Puka Nacua, who, despite being the 177th overall pick, proved to be a great addition to the Rams. He came into play as Kupp’s replacement for four games. After his impressive performance with 9.8 catches and 125.3 per game, according to the NFL, Nacua cemented his position as the co-wide receiver on the team with five touchdowns and 1445 yards in his first NFL season.

It is predicted that McVay and Sneads will make the utmost of the opportunities presented to them. With money and numbers sorted, the only question remaining is what players stand to be potential Rams’ picks in the 2024 draft.

Rams need to assess their weaknesses to secure a strong suit for the upcoming season. What the team needs in priority is additions to the defensive line. Therefore, having young blood in the rusher and tackle positions is going to be beneficial for Los Angeles. Getting a new tight end is also an interesting option, especially with Tyler Higbee injured.

In NFL mock drafts, several college players are being considered as a good fit for the Rams. Chad Reuter talked about cornerback Nate Wiggins from Clemson being a potential pick for the LA Rams. He wrote, “The Rams haven’t had a true No. 1 corner since trading Jalen Ramsey. Wiggins has that sort of game, challenging receivers on the outside.”

As for the mock draft by Fox Sports, offensive tackle Amarius Mims was considered a good option. Joel Klatt wrote, “Similar to the Bengals, picking an offensive lineman makes a lot of sense for the Rams. You’re not going to get many more years of Matthew Stafford, so you’ve got to protect him. Mims, who played right tackle at Georgia, can step right in and do that.”
