Johnson is set to be the grand marshal for the 66th running of the Daytona 500 and hence, sat for an interview with NASCAR’s official YouTube channel. Even if in an entirely different environment, ‘The Rock’ had to deal with a couple of the relevant WWE-related questions. When he was asked about his recent Bloodline alliance, the ‘People’s Champion’ spoke candidly on why he pursued an alliance with Roman Reigns, Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa.

”We decided to really lean into the idea of families and lineage and culture. And when you think about it it’s pretty cool. When you look at the family tree, as I was saying, I grew up in the world of professional wrestling, but when you look at the actual family tree of Maivia Johnson, uh, it’s pretty spectacular.”

Notably, Johnson, Reigns, Sikoa and the Usos are all part of the Anoaʻi family. Rikishi and Yokozuna also belong to the Samoan family of professional wrestler. Reflecting on the storied lineage, ‘The Rock’ humbly added, “It’s pretty cool again, just creating more and more opportunities for. not only my family, which I’m incredibly grateful for, but for other wrestlers too and other performers.’

If ‘The Rock’ chose to carry forward the tradition and legacy of his wrestling blood, it will certainly bring more eyeballs and more money in the promotion leading to more growth, and more opportunities for other superstars existing. Only a veteran like him sees the wrestling promotion with so much foresight.

But are more twists in his WWE return storyline looming large? Let’s dig deeper.

‘The Rock’ wanted his cousin Roman Reigns’ title just one month ago

Not many weeks have passed since ‘The Rock’ returned, but he has already made rounds with back-to-back shock moves. Apart from becoming an official member of the TKO board, and issuing a threat to Cody Rhodes’ WrestleMania dream, Johnson took the fans to storm by joining forces with his cousin in Bloodline. In fact, earlier in February, Johnson was actually vying for Reigns’ title and intended to face him at the main event of WrestleMania XL.

‘The Rock’ even asked fans if he should “sit at the head of the table” during dinner, making an indirect dig at his cousin. However, Triple H would later announce that Cody Rhodes would be contending for Reigns’ World Championship belt at WrestleMania instead of ‘The Rock’. This caused Johnson to slap Rhodes, immediately forming a feud. One week later, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson joined his cousins on stage as part of the Bloodline.
