Isn’t it every golfer’s dream to achieve the best rank that they deserve and then play the majors as well? It is well known that the road to majors is tough for LIV golfers, but it seems like it’s not a cakewalk for PGA Tour pros either. PGA Tour Pro, Byeong Hun An reposted a tweet by NUCLR GOLF, which consisted of snapshots of Norman’s social media post about the OWGR and cited his frustration over his rank on the OWGR.
An posted a tweet on his X handle (formerly known as Twitter) and spoke about his rankings on other ranking systems and how he is still ineligible to compete in all majors and stated, “I’m top 30 player in all other rankings. And I’m still not qualified for all the majors yet. It’s unbelievable and not acceptable.”

However, An sits in the 43rd rank on the Official World Golf Rankings and may qualify for the 2024 Masters. The recent outburst by Norman had pushed An to explain his frustration over OWGR as well. They aren’t the only ones.

Jon Rahm had also called the OWGR “laughable” at one point and the LIV Golf players had shed their thoughts on it as well. Dustin Johnson had found the rankings as “skewed” while Cameron Smith called them “pretty ridiculous.” An’s sentiments were similar to what LIV defectors felt. This led to the next obvious speculation about LIV Golf’s potential new signee.

To that, Hun An gave a negative and a one-word answer, “No.” The 32-year-old was just trying to highlight the point that, it is not just the LIV Golf players who are suffering through the OWGR ranks; many on the PGA Tour are prey to the same troubles. The OWGR had previously undergone a few changes for the 2024 season, but with the merger supposedly alive, the OWGR might make more changes in the coming months.
