Competing at 72 kilograms in amateur wrestling, Amit Elor has justified her strong conviction in the sport. She started by saying that she has many times heard people claiming that “wrestling is stupid”. However, Amit Elor, who herself is an 8 World Titles’ keeper, asserts that the sport is much more complicated than it seems. Claiming that the sport is extremely technical as much as the game of chess, wrestling uses both physical and mental strength.

Amit Elor gives a voice to support her impression and says that wrestling sometimes might look like two people going head to head. It might seem that there isn’t much action in the game. But a lot is happening behind the scenes. It is like a full-body workout when one wrestles. Comparing the majestic sport with plain gym workouts, the international wrestler claims, “I can go to the gym and train for hours and I will be sore, but nothing compares to the soreness I get from wrestling a six-minute match.”

World Champion sets her sight on 2024 Paris Olympics

While her exceptional statistics enumerate her dominance on the mat, Amit Elor has set her eyes on the Paris Olympics 2024. The 19-year-old young wrestler has chosen to bring out the best in her in the 68kg Olympic category. Preparing for the same, she said last year, “The most important thing for me is that I feel my best when I’m wrestling. Right now, I plan to drop my weight to 68kg and see how I feel there. That’s going to be a big challenge, a different weight.”
