Chambers made it to the 60-metre semi-finals of the UK Indoor Championships 2024 clocked at 6.89 seconds. Although the 45-year-old failed to make it to the finals he shared that his main goal was to break his own record. Back in his prime days, he was on a winning streak as he secured a bronze and a gold in the 1999 World Championships. In 2010 he bagged a gold in World Indoor Championships and a bronze in 2014 in Istanbul. But it’s already been 12 long years, and as Chambers said his mind is not yet ready to accept the fact that he is already 45.

In a recent interview, Dwain Chambers said, “In my mind I’m 25…”, but he also admitted that it’s “kind of hard to acknowledge” that his body is aging. The fact that he has been clocked at 6.81 seconds at 45 years of age has turned out to be an inspiring aspect for many older athletes. When Chambers was asked for his advice for athletes who are stepping into their 40s, Chambers replied, “My advice would be to Train Less and Recover More”. He added that it took him 2 years to figure out the same.
