The list of candidates included prominent NCAA personalities such as Deion Sanders and Shedeur Sanders, Travis Hunter of Colorado, Ryan Day of Ohio State, Kirby Smart of Georgia, Dan Lanning of Oregon, and the legendary Nick Saban, former coach of Alabama. However, the inclusion of Deion and Shedeur Sanders in the poll sparked a backlash from Alabama fans, who fervently demanded that Nick Saban be featured on the cover instead.
