Before the All-Star Perche, Mondo Duplantis had attempted to break the 6.22-meter mark twice before, in the season opener in Uppsala and later in Berlin. Mondo Duplantis entered the competition at 5.71 meters and cleared it on his first attempt. He then passed at 5.81 meters and managed to clear 5.91 meters on his second try. At this point, he had already won the competition.
