Just a few days back, Justin Gatlin vociferously came out supporting Noah Lyles engaging in his future chance of toppling records.  However, in the 60m dash, Noah Lyles’s opponent is too emphatic to be ignored. It is the former world champion, Christian Coleman. Ultimately, on February 17, these two sprinters will lock horns again at the USATF World Championship. In the mouth-watering fight, Gatlin also had things to say as he again supported the 26-year-old sprinter. But for Noah Lyles, the occasion seemed to be another chance to reveal himself. 

Noah Lyles wins the race by showing confidence in red 

As Noah Lyles expressed more than once, he would “come for all”. That mindset was prevalent on the eve of the USATF indoor championship in Albuquerque as well. The trademark indoor championship is already brewing with the hyped fight between Noah Lyles and Christian Coleman deciding the supremacy in the 60m dash event. Among all these discussions, the reigning world champion appeared at the event flaunting a custom-made wearing, advertising his mammoth achievements from last year’s WAC.

As Citius Mag deliberately posted about that appearance by its X-handle, it captioned, “Here’s a look at how @LylesNoah arrived at the track today for the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships. The jacket says: 100m, 200m and 4x100m – the three events he won gold medals in 2023.”

For the moment, Noah Lyles set the anticipation much on his side as in those individual events, he marked better than arch-rival, Christian Coleman. But being the legend in the 60m dash, Christian Coleman might not leave the war without drawing sweat from Noah. 

The Coleman factor is not to be ignored 

As of now, in the 1st round of the 60m dash event in Albuquerque, Christi Coleman has achieved the qualification mark, besting his arch-rival Noah Lyles. Eventually, the race has almost echoed the same flavor that has been continuing for the last 6 years. Since 2022, both Coleman and Noah have faced each other in four events, participating in the 60m indoor event. On all of those occasions, Coleman claimed the top podium whereas Noah Lyles had to be disappointed. The last tussle between these two American sensations was in the Millrose Games in 2022. There Christian Coleman clocked the same as he has done today, 6.49. On the other hand, Noah Lyles has bettered his performance today, stopping 0.3 seconds behind.

Now, the final anticipation is still on the platter as the final 60m indoor event is yet to take place in Albuquerque. But, the fight between these two sprinters will add another glorious episode in the ongoing lore.
